I am very sorry that I haven't been able to update the journal as often as I'd like, lately. Fortunately, I am back to catching up on school work and will hopefully be able to get these updates out to you more frequently!

~Sapient-Butterfly is our latest featured member in the spotlight section.

The second round of The Comment Project is now up and running. Check out the scroll box below for all the details on how to sign up for this round.

=Inked-Page and many other wonderful literature clubs are frequently featured in the Lit List, created by `ATrue. Check out Issue No. 13.

The club may still be going through some minor adjustments, so please remember to bear with us.

Finally- our second contest! It's taken a little while to get this together, but we hope you enjoy it all the same!

About the Contest
This contest is concentrating on specific prompts. In case you haven't noticed, =Inked-Page has a prompt section of our journal, available for members (and non-members!) to use for inspiration (you can find the link in the heading of our journal, for future reference). For this contest, we want you to take one of the prompts listed on that page and use it to create a masterpiece!

Contest Rules

These rules are subject to change up until March 15. Please check this journal for any updated information.

One entry per deviant. Make sure you choose your prompt wisely!
Poems cannot be more than 150 lines. Prose cannot be more than 3,000 words.
You must state which prompt you use in the artist's comments of the contest entry deviation.
You must also put a link to either the news article or this journal in the artist's comments of the contest entry deviation.
Entries must be made specifically for this contest (deviated after February 9, 2009).

Prize donors are eligible to enter the contest. Judges may also enter, but will not be able to cast a vote on their own entry.

If any of these rules are not followed, your entry will be marked as invalid.

How to Submit
Open a note, and address it to =Inked-Page.
Type 'Contest Entry' in the subject line.
Copy and paste a link/thumb to your contest entry in the body of the note.
Any entries not sent in a note will be ignored. Don't leave a link to your entry on =Inked-Page's front page.

Contest begins: Monday, February 9
Contest ends: Monday, March 23

Any entries received after the deadline will be invalid.

Since we had a good turnout for the first round of this project, we're starting up on round two!

The goal of this project is to give deviants a chance to have their work critiqued/commented on and also for them to critique/comment another deviant's work. Plus, you may end up making a new friend in the process!

Please keep in mind that you must be a MEMBER of =Inked-Page to participate.

So, here's how it works:

If you're interested, simply note =Inked-Page. Please make the title of your note "Comment Project" and just write a little blurb saying that you want to take part.
Once all of the notes have been received, a list will be created of random pairs of deviants. Each pair of deviants will become Comment Project partners.
Deviants will then send their respective partners a note introducing themselves (this questionnaire is available to use, if you'd like), so that partners can get to know each other better.
In this note, they will also send three links to pieces they want critique/comments on.
Deviants will then critique/comment their partners works and give them a little feature in their journal.

Everyone gets a little something out of this project, so if you're interested in joining, please send a note!

All notes should be sent by February 20.

Style of Writing: If I’m honest I’m not so sure I have one specific style of writing, I’m willing to try and turn my hand to anything. If I’m more likely to avoid anything it would be love poems, but that’s not to say I haven’t written a few. When it comes to prose I do favour writing short monologue pieces, the theme of which would usually be horror.

Favorite book, author, etc.: I love Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series and Laurell K Hamilton is another particular favourite of mine. But I’ll have a read of anything from the fantasy or horror genre.

Favorite movie: A close, three way tie between Velvet Goldmine, Swordfish and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Favorite music: I like rock music, in its many different varieties from metal to rockabilly. But my favourite band by far is the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Other types of art you enjoy: To look at I like anything that catches my eye and immediately grabs my attention. In terms of other types of art I do myself I particularly like collage, abstracts and psychedelics.

Some other favorite things: Gaming, xbox 360 to be specific. RPG games are my favourites and Mass Effect has been my latest obsession. And of course being a mum is probably the best job in the world.
